Woods trails leader Haas by five shots at Torrey Pines

(CNN) — Tiger Woods carded a second straight 69 at the Farmers Insurance Open on Friday to leave the former world number one five shots behind leader Bill Haas.
Woods, a 14-time major winner, is six-under par for the tournament in California after three bogeys on the final nine holes tarnished his score.
The 35-year-old, who is making his seasonal debut at Torrey Pines, where he has won seven times, was still satisfied with his form.
“It’s a round that could have easily slipped away, but I got it back at 16 and 18,” Woods told the PGA Tour’s website.
“I got off to a good start today. I was making some putts, hitting some good shots. I lost it in the middle part of the round and then I got it back in the end.”
The 28-year-old Haas is two shots ahead of his fellow American Anthony Kim, who is in second place on nine-under.
Haas, the son of former PGA Tour star Jay Haas, is seeking a third career victory to go with two titles he won last year.
He had eight birdies in his six-under 66 for an 11-under total of 133 heading into the weekend.
Haas lost in a playoff for the Bob Hope Classic last week which was won by Venuezuela’s Jhonattan Vegas.
A group of seven players one shot behind Kim included three-time Masters winner Phil Mickelson and his U.S. Ryder Cup teammates Bubba Watson and Hunter Mahan.
Swede Fredrik Jacobson is also on eight-under, along with 1995 British Open champion John Daly and American duo Ben Crane and 2010 Rookie of the Year Rickie Fowler.
Surprise first-round leader Kang Sung-hoon of South Korea slipped away as he followed his opening 64 with a 76, but he still comfortably made the cut which fell at one-under.
